Growing rapidly in the context of sustainable development and environmental concerns, agroecology is emerging as an innovative response to the agricultural challenges of 2025. It is not limited to a simple technique or a method of cultivation, but represents a genuine rethinking of our agricultural systems. With an approach inspired by natural ecosystems, agroecology proposes a transition towards sustainable crops, integrating biodiversity, respect for resources and economic performance. Closely linked to the life cycle of soils, plants and animals, this practice promotes regenerative agriculture, capable of meeting both food security and environmental requirements. What is commonly referred to, within the framework of the BTS APV, as a real lever for placing agriculture in a sustainable development logic, where each stakeholder must rethink their methods to preserve the planet while remaining competitive.
At a time when civil society and political actors are increasingly emphasizing the need to build more resilient agri-food systems, agroecology is emerging as a concrete solution. It enhances biodiversity, reduces the use of plant protection products, and integrates agricultural practices that respect agricultural ecosystems. With this in mind, the BTS APV (Professional Training Certificate in Agriculture and Livestock) program must train professionals capable of integrating these new principles into their future activities. The agroecological approach aims not only to produce, but to do so sustainably, in harmony with nature. With specific challenges for the 2025 period, notably the need to preserve water resources and combat soil erosion, this method offers a real alternative to conventional agriculture, often criticized for its environmental impacts. All of this makes agroecology a central issue in shaping a more responsible and balanced agricultural future.
